Chapter 9 - Finale - Wrap Up & Build your Ultimate Robot Challenge

Assignment #4:

Build your Ultimate Robot challenge:

This is the final assignment from this workshop, and it will be an opportunity for you to shine. The Ultimate Robot challenge will utilize the knowledge you gained throughout the entire workshop. On top of that, it will test your teamwork & your ability to solve problem creativity with limited resources (time included).

We have come up with a few suggestions on what is considered an Ultimate Robot.
But you are not limited to those suggested few; take up the challenge to come out with your own vision of an Ultimate Robot & pitch your suggestion to us by:
26th Jan 2022 [Specialised Workshop – Robotics & AI (SG)]

You will be graded based on the number of successfully completed challenges.

  • (A) Automated Shuttle bus service robot:

Turn your robot into an automated shuttle bus service. (Think MRT/MTR/LRT but without the rail track).
It will stop at each "Station" designated for the selected "Bus" services you pick. & it will wait for the "Passengers" to descend or embark onto the shuttle bus.

Hint: You can utilize the color sensor & line sensor to signify a "Bus Station".

  • (B) Robot Battlefield road-rage ambulance:

Imagine your robot is in a war-torn country. Its duty is to navigate its way through the battlefield to rescue survivors from designated locations (Coordinates).
Mission A: Get from point A to point B, then back to point A without a preset path while avoiding obstacles.
Mission B: You can run down as many enemies as you see while navigating your way to your "survivors."

Hint: You can use TeachableMachine to recognize the "Soldier-man" & use the color sensor to know once you have reached either point A or point B.

  • (C) Companion-bot for your pet:

Your pet (live ones) are mighty lonely whenever you are in school. Create a robot to keep them company while you are away. At the designated time, your robot can also trigger some mechanism to keep your pet hydrated & fed.

  • (D) A Detective robot:

One day, we are going to have lots of low cost robot in each household. (Think swarm robotic.  Wiki ).
We will get your robot to move randomly around the room to look for a missing item in the room. (recall that humans are the one that causes the problem in a lot of industry settings? We do not place things in the same exact location after use).

  • (E) Open topic - Remember to pitch us your idea before you proceed.
