This is a simple DIY STEAM Project/Toy Kit to make a cool-looking functional miniature radar using BBC micro:bit as the brain.
This simple DIY STEAM project makes a cool-looking miniature “Radar” system, which uses the BBC micro:bit (both v1/2) as the brain, a servo motor to sweep the area in front of it and an Ultrasonic Sensor to determine the distance towards any object within range. ?
We will rely on your computer (or a Android SmartPhone) screen for the radar display. This project is compatible with any modern Windows, Mac, or Linux (or Android) computers ?️ capable of running a recent version of Google’s Chrome browser or its derivative.
You have three different options for the miniature Radar construction.
[ Option A ] Laser-cut Wood Radar Tower + Electronics (Ultrasonic Sensor & Servo Motor with micro:bit compatible eyelets)
[ Option B ] 3D printed Plastic Miniature Radar + Electronics (Ultrasonic Sensor & Servo Motor with micro:bit compatible eyelets)
[ Option C ] Electronics only (Ultrasonic Sensor & Servo Motor with micro:bit compatible eyelets)
All the parts & tools required for the assembly will be included in the box kit (Except the micro:bit board).
